1972-79 (left) Wrote ‘Teliffant’ a new television series for children for BBC Wales. I wrote 20 programmes a year for eight years. Producers: Meredydd Evans, Jack Williams, Ruth Price, David Richards, Bryn Richards and Rhydderch Jones.

1979 Wrote three short films for the Welsh Film Board: ‘Garej Syr Wynff’, ‘Crochendy Syr Wynff’, and ‘Teliffant’. Producer: Gwilym Owen. Director: Emlyn Williams.

1980-89 (right) Wrote the series ‘Anturiaethau Syr Wynff a Plwmsan for S4C through Burum & Ffilmiau Llifon. Producers: Dafydd Meirion/Wynford Ellis Owen and Gareth Lloyd Williams. Directors: Graham Edgar, Gareth Lloyd Williams. These programmes are regularly repeated on S4C.

1982-83 Scripted the television series ‘Ond o ddifri’ Madam Sera!’ for S4C through Burum. Producer: Dafydd Meirion. Director: Wynford Ellis Owen.

1984 Assistant script editor on contract to the BBC Drama Department. I worked under the esteemed Gwenlyn Parry.

Syr Wynff a Plwmsan

1984 Won the literary medal at the Caernarfon eisteddfod for a play about drug addiction, ‘Llef un yn llefain’. The adjudicator was the playwright John Gwilym Jones.

1986 I wrote a Christmas special for S4C television ‘Grym Ewyllys’, through Ffilmiau Llifon. Produced and directed by Gareth Lloyd Williams.

1987 Wrote the television series ‘Siarabang’ for S4C through Ffilmiau’r Nant. Producer; Robin Evans. Directors: Robin Evans, Wil Aaron.

1987 Wrote ‘Sôn am Siarabang’ – including selections from the Summer series – for S4C through Ffilmiau’r Nant. Producer/director: Robin Evans.

1993-94 Co-wrote with John Pierce Jones a new comedy/adventure series for television, ‘Watcyn a Sgrwmp’ Commissioning editor: Meirion Davies.

1994 Co-wrote with John Pierce Jones a six part comedy series for BBC Radio Cymru, ‘Yr Aelod’. Producer: Aled P. Jones.

1997 Scripted the drama documentary ‘Ddoe yn ôl’ about the life of Sir Charles Evans: ‘Canllath o gopa’r Mynydd’ for Cambrensis Communications. Producer: Arwel Ellis Owen. Director: Paul Turner.

1997 Co-wrote the second series of ‘Yr Aelod’ for Radio Cymru, with John Pierce Jones – a six part comedy series. Producer: Aled P. Jones.

1997 (left) Comissioned to write a film for Christmas Day, ‘Porc Pei’. This film won the German Würzburg International Film Festival’s chief award for best film. It was later nominated for 8 BAFTA Awards including best screenwriter for myself. Producer: Shân Davies. Director: Paul Turner. A Cambrensis production for S4C.

1997-98 Scripted a new cartoon character for S4C ‘Bybz ar y Bêl’ from a detailed synopsis by myself which Griffilms Ltd. developed for television. The programme was first broadcast on Christmas Day 1998. (This programme was later nominated for a BAFTA UK Award) Producer/Director: Hywel Gruffudd.

1998 Commissioned to write a stage play ‘Gwin Coch a Fodca’ for Theatre Powys. The play about alcoholism was performed at the National Eisteddfod of Wales at Penybont, and later toured Wales in October/November 1998. (It is intended to publish this play.)

1998 Commissioned to write the film script ‘The Trip To Montenotte’. Commissioning editor: Angharad Jones. (This project was yet to reach fruition.)

1998 Commissioned to adapt my stage play ‘Gwin Coch a Fodca’ for BBC Radio Cymru. Producer/Director: Aled P. Jones.

1999 Wrote an 8 x half hour drama series ‘Porc Peis Bach’ for S4C through Cambrensis. Producer: Iar Eryri. Director: Hugh Thomas. (Was nominated for best screenwriter in the 2001 BAFTA Awards for this work.) I also wrote a book based on the series. The book was published by Hughes a’i Fab. May 2000. www.gwales.com

1999 Commissioned to write a new comedy ‘Fi ‘Di Gari Pride’ through Cambrensis for S4C. Commissioning editor: Huw Chiswell. This project has still to reach the screen.

2005 Commissioned to write the stage version of Porc Peis Bach, O DIAR! (Sioe Lwyfan Porc Peis Bach) for a joint production between Cambrensis Communications, Theatr Bara Caws and Theatr Gwynedd to be staged at the 2005 National Eisteddfod of Wales. The production was staged at Theatr Gwynedd for the whole week of the event, with a matinee, sponsored by S4C, on the Wednesday. Director: Valmai Jones. (Two extra matinees had to be included to cope with the demand for tickets.)

2006 I have been commissioned to write a brand new comedy series for Radio Cymru. RHACSUN SAM SNAPE follows Sam, as he retires from his post as night editor on the Sun tabloid newspaper in Wapping, and returns to his home town of Tre Wynfan in the heart of rural Wales. The new series will be transmitted during the Autumn Season, 2006.

2007 Wrote the script for JENNIE – a drama-documentary about the life of the legendary Jennie Eirian Davies. Producer: Arwel Ellis Owen. Director: Rhys Powys.
